The Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation - ZamPen in collaboration with the  National Irrigation Administration Region IX - Zamboanga Peninsula conducted the two-day activity held in NIA - Irrigation Management Office (IMO), Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Attended by 41 farmer leaders from the different irrigators associations, the activity discussed F2C2 as DA’s strategy and the crafting of the cluster development plan. This will be followed by a workshop to come up with a comprehensive cluster development plan.

Agad na tinugunan ni Regional Manager June Nathaniel Plaza  kasama ng mga opisyales at empleyado ng NIA Regional Office at Zamboanga Sibugay Irrigation Management Office (ZSIB IMO) ang problema sa Right of Way (ROW) na kabilang sa Sibugeuy Valley Irrigation System (SVIS) na matatagpuan sa Brgy. Kahayagan, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur.

Personal na kinausap ni Engr. Plaza kasama ang manager ng ZSIB IMO - Engr. Girlie Detalla, at Legal Officer - Atty. Katherine Grace Cortez Lumilis, at ilang NIA Region 9 staff ang pamilya Vicente na apektado sa ROW issue.

Naging matagumpay at matiwasay ang talakayan ng dalawang partido. Nangako ang ahensya na magbibigay ng kinakailangang suporta sa pamilya sa panahon ng paglilipat sa kanilang bagong matutuluyan.

NIA-9 management headed by Regional Manager June Nathaniel S. Plaza gathers all field engineers today, August 11, 2023 to personally educate, instruct, and impart guidance as the new head of the agency in the region.

30 Project-in-Charge (PICs) including construction unit heads from different provinces attend the Toolbox meeting held at the Conference Room of NIA-9 Regional Office purposely to present the carry-over and on-going irrigation projects in all provinces of Region 9.

Being an experienced construction engineer himself who has handled big ticket projects,  RM Plaza imparts knowledge, guidance, and best practices to all young engineers in the field in order to correct, improve, and convey quality workmanship.

NIA-9 Regional Manager June Nathaniel Plaza meets the Provincial Governor of Zamboanga del Sur, Hon. Victor J. Yu for the first time during courtesy visit held on August 10, 2023.

Regional Manager Plaza discussed to Governor Yu the priority projects of National Irrigation Administration in Zamboanga del Sur specifically the repair of Mahayag Dam of Salug River Irrigation System (SARIS) located in Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. Also discussed during the meeting is how the government including the congressional districts can help in the implementation of agency's projects and improve its services to the people.

On the other hand, Governor Yu expressed his full support to the agency's initiatives in order to address better the needs of the local farmers in the province.

The National Irrigation Administration ZAMBASULTA Regional Sub-Office IX in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Region IX hold a two-day Writeshop on the Formulation of Cluster Development Plan (CDP) for the Irrigators’ Association of Zamboanga City.

This interactive workshop is presented by the Department of Agriculture Region IX headed by Mr. Hannibal P. Bayo-ang together with Ms. Caryl Dorothy A. Tan and their team with the coordination of the Institutional Development Unit of NIA ZRSO led by IDS Head Ms. Leni S. Enriquez.  The workshop will enhance and provide guidance to farmers on the implementation of the DA’s Memorandum Circular No. 21 series 2020 program, the introductory formulation of Cluster Development Plan (CDP) and enhancement on the clustering through SWOC Analysis and Capability Development.
