NIA Region IX turns over joins PRLEC's poverty reduction and livelihood programs for disadvantaged communities
DUMINGAG, ZDS, July 14 (NIA-9) – The National Irrigation Administration Region 9 (NIA-9) along with other line agencies converged in a remote barangay of ZDS to implement the Sustainable Development Intervention Program (SDIP) of Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC).
PRLEC is one of the 12 efforts under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and is being managed by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). It aims to develop self-reliant, resilient, productive, and sustainable communities through harmonized and culturally responsive development programs.
Pursuant to the PRLEC’s mission and intent, a two (2) day Sustainable Development Intervention Program (SDIP) was conducted by the Cluster on June 13-14, 2021 at Brgy Dilud, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. The beneficiaries of the program are two (2) barangays of Dumingag identified as geographically isolated, disadvantaged, and conflict-affected areas namely: Brgy. Dilud and Brgy. Sunop.
