ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE - On 16 July 2025, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Zamboanga del Norte, in collaboration with the National Irrigation Administration – Zamboanga del Norte Regional Sub-Office (ZDNRSO), successfully conducted a one-day validation activity for 50 farmer-beneficiaries of the La Libertad Communal Irrigation System, located in Barangay Loay, Gutalac. This initiative, under the TUPAD program, has an allocation of $330,500.00 and aims to provide emergency employment to marginalized farmers. The validation ensures that qualified beneficiaries will receive assistance while contributing to irrigation maintenance and improvement. Through this validation, the program ensures that only qualified and deserving beneficiaries will receive the assistance, empowering them to not only support their families but also contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the irrigation systems that sustain their livelihoods.
This joint effort between DOLE and NIA underscores the government's steadfast commitment to uplifting rural communities, promoting inclusive employment opportunities, and strengthening agricultural productivity in the region.
