ZAMBOANGA CITY - ZAMBASULTA Regional Sub-Office, NIA REGION-IX, the Acting Administrative Officer and Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person Ms. Nurlinda A. Amil, conducted an orientation on Basic GAD Concepts for members of the Upper Masaba Irrigators Association (IA) on July 17, 2025. The orientation aimed to provide participants with essential knowledge on gender and development, focusing on the significance of gender equality, inclusivity, and equity within both community and organizational settings. The initiative is part of NIA's broader commitment to mainstream GAD principles in its programs, projects, and stakeholder engagements, fostering a more inclusive and responsive irrigation sector.
The session was successfully facilitated with the assistance of Institutional Development Officers (IDOs) Ms. Darlene Sanchez and Ms. Aimie Rolene Lee, whose support helped ensure an engaging and meaningful learning environment. Their active participation contributed to the effectiveness of the orientation and reinforced NIA's ongoing efforts to empower its partner communities through education and advocacy.
