TITAY, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY - The NIA Zamboanga Sibugay Irrigation Management Office (ZSIMO), in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), conducted a drone survey for the Titay Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) on May 27-29, 2025.
The survey is part of the final environmental inventory for areas affected in the National Greening Program (NGP) and Community-Based Forest Management Agreements (CBFMA). It also forms part of the pre-engineering requirements for the project's Feasibility Study (FS) and Detailed Engineering (DE). A flight plan was prepared as guide for the aerial survey, which captured real-time images of areas that may be submerged by the planned reservoir.
The activity was joined by Mr. Crissam Lanticse from the NIA Regional Office with other members of the survey team, and DENR foresters Mr. Antonio De Ocampo and Mr. Mark Alpad.
NIA assured that all legal and environmental requirements are being followed in preparation for the physical inventory. The agency also emphasized its strong collaboration with DENR to ensure that environmental considerations, including biodiversity and ecosystem protection, are prioritized. The joint effort aims to promote sustainable agriculture and support local communities in Zamboanga Sibugay.
