PIÑAN, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE — In a continuing effort to alleviate poverty and promote food security, the NIA Zamboanga del Norte Sub-Office (ZDNRSO), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Agriculture (DA), successfully conducted the last batch of the Training on Nutrition and Feed Management for the members of Nipaan Zero Hunger Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Association on May 21, 2025 in Barangay Bauyong, Piñan.

This initiative forms part of NIA's Convergence Program, which aims to integrate government efforts to uplift marginalized communities, particularly those involved in irrigation sector. The program combines the technical expertise of NIA, the livelihood assistance framework of DSWD, and the production and nutrition knowledge of the DA, creating a holistic support system for farmer-beneficiaries.

The training was designed to enhance the participants' knowledge and skills in proper feed formulation, livestock nutrition, and sustainable feed management practices, particularly in support of their recently launched Chicken Egg Production Project under the DSWD-SLP.
