NIA-IX supports PRLEC's poverty and livelihood programs for disadvantaged communities

MIDSALIP, ZAMBO. SUR.  NIA-IX along with other line agencies converged on September 22, 2022 in Piwan, Midsalip, one of the remote barangays in Zamboanga del Sur, purposely to implement the Training Induction Program and Community-Based Training of Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (CLUSTER) - an NTF-ELCAC initiative managed by TESDA.

NIA-IX represented by Zamboanga del Sur IMO Institutional Unit, Ms. Ann Novabos Maligro, Supervising IDO presented an overview of the Agency and its irrigation programs for the information of the local community. Ms. Maligro discussed the process on how the community can avail irrigation programs to further improve their rice production.

At present, the farmers in the said barangay are dependent of rain water for their farms. With the introduction of NIA, farmer-participants were enlightened and given hope to an improved farming in their area.
