Inauguration & Turnover Ceremony of Seguinan Bunguiao CIS Extension

 

The National Irrigation Administration ZAMBASULTA RSO successfully turned over the completed irrigation facilities to the Bunguiao Compania & Seguinan Irrigators’ Association. SEGUINAN BUNGUIAO Communal Irrigation System Extension funded under Extension/Expansion of Existing Irrigation System (EEEIS) CY2020 implemented thru force account works via community based participation.

The project started on July 12,2020 and completed on October 23, 2020 for the construction of intake structure, canalization and canal lining. Through this project, sufficient amount of water can now irrigate to the farmers' respective rice fields contributing to agricultural productivity.

The activity was spearheaded by ZAMBASULTA RSO Acting Manager Engr. Robert Berni L. Rada II and facilitated by IDS Head Leni S. Enriquez & IDU team together with the Project-in-Charge Engr. Joselito T. Falcasantos.

Among the guests of honor were District II Congressman Hon. Manuel Jose “MANNIX” Dalipe, Councilors Hon. John Dalipe & Hon. Al-jihan R. Edding, Bunguiao Brgy. Council headed by Hon. Leo Resurreccion and Officers & members of the Bunguiao Compania & Seguinan Irrigators’ Association.

 

NIA Turned over the first Solar Pump Irrigation Project in Zamboanga City

The NIA ZAMBASULTA RSO IX proudly turned over to the Irrigators' Association of Mercedes, Cabaluay, Culianan & Talabaan - the innovative methodology of irrigation. This solar powered pump irrigation project for MERCEDES II SIP CY2020 amounted to PhP5.0 Million which was initiated by Zamboanga City District II Congressman Honorable Manuel Jose "Mannix" Dalipe together with the supervision of NIA ZAMBASULTA Acting Manager Engr. Robert Berni L. Rada II.

This solar powered centrifugal pump is designed to irrigated around 5 hectares of agricultural land considering Mercedes as the largest rice granary of Zamboanga City.

Turn-over and inauguration of project was held at the project site located at Brgy. Cabaluay with the leadership of Engr. Robert Berni L. Rada II, Acting Manager for ZRSO and facilitated by IDU Team headed by IDS Head Leni S. Enriquez together with the Project-in-Charge Engr. Frazel S. Hassan.

Amongst the guests of honors were District II Congressman Hon. Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, Councilors Hon. John Dalipe & Hon. Al-Jihan R. Edding, IA President Hja. Aida N. Loong with MCCT IA Officials and Members and the representative from the Long Island Builders & Construction.

 

NIA turned over first project for Mangga Bunguiao CIS

 

The first project for Mangga Bunguiao Communal Irrigation System finally turned over to the Mangga Bunguiao (MB) Irrigators’ Association. The project was undertaken thru force account works (FAW) under the fund source Repair-CIS CY2020.

The implementation of project started on June 8,2020 and was completed on October 8, 2020 with the construction of 725 meters canalization (canal lining) & canal Structure.

NIA turned-over to Mangga Bunguiao (MB) Irrigators' Association for the proper operation and maintenance of the system. Moreover, the IA enthusiastically accepted the responsibility given to them by NIA benefiting 30 farmer beneficiaries to a total of 23 hectares serviceable area.

The event was lead by the ZAMBASULTA RSO Acting Manager Engr. Robert Berni L. Rada II, facilitated by IDU Team headed by IDS Head Leni S. Enriquez together with the Project-in-Charge Engr. Joselito T. Falcasantos.

DA USEC Zamzamin Ampatuan visits NIA Region 9

 

Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary for Regulations Zamzamin L. Ampatuan together with DA Regional Executive Director Rad Donn Cedenio and party visited NIA Region 9 on October 21, 2020 (Wednesday), just in time of the arrival of incoming NIA R9 Regional Manager Manuel L. Rañeses.

As one of DA's partner agencies, USEC Ampatuan shared his visions and plans for this region and hoped for a more strengthened partnership between the two (2) agencies for the benefit of all farmers and Irrigations Associations in Zamboanga Peninsula.
