MOLAVE, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR –The NIA Salug River Irrigation System (SARIS) successfully held the Quarterly Federation Meeting of the TAMOMA Farmers Irrigators Association (FIA) on June 23, 2025 at the SARIS Office in Molave, aimed at reinforcing policy awareness and coordination among local irrigators' associations.
The meeting focused on educating IA members about federation policies to ensure alignment with operational standards and readiness for implementation, particularly in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Mahayag. Discussions included updates on the Mahayag Dam, matters related to Operation and Maintenance (O&M) subsidies, and the formal LGU adoption of IA policies crafted by the federation.
Engr. Girlie M. Detalla, Division Manager of NIA Zamboanga del Sur Irrigation Management Office (ZDIMO) stressed the importance of clear and consistent policy communication. She reminded the Irrigation Development Unit (IDU) of SARIS to disseminate all O&M-related matters during TSAG meetings to ensure that IA leaders are fully informed and compliant.
The session was attended by 22 IA Presidents who actively participated in the meeting to foster greater understanding and collaboration among member associations.
