The National Irrigation Administration welcomes Year 2022 with the theme “Synergy. Sustainability. Security.” in an Ushering activity held simultaneously in all NIA Offices nationwide on January 05, 2022.
For this year, the NIA Water Accent Wall was chosen to symbolize the theme. The waterfall adheres to the Year of the Water Tiger which symbolizes strength, power, inspiration, and respect. Similarly, it signifies open-mindedness and inclination towards new ideas and experiences.
All NIA Region 9 Offices in Zamboanga Peninsula joined the Agency in this yearly activity with joy and hope for the coming year. Each employee wrote their names on the stones which form part of the Waterfall structure. These stones reflect the synergy among the Agency’s human resources.
In lieu of the Regional Manager Salome N. Layasan, who attended the New Year’s Call at NIA Central Office, Engr. Maritez I. Soria, Division Manager for Engineering and Operations, graced the activity with her New Year’s Message. During her speech, she encouraged all NIA-9 Regional Office employees to work hand-in-hand to achieve more accomplishments in order for Region 9 to contribute to the attainment of food security and agricultural growth of the country.
