NIA Region IX turns over Dipolog CIS in Zamboanga del Norte

July 21, 2021 - A total of P5 Million worth of completed canalization and canal structures were finally turned over by the National Irrigation Administration Region IX- Zamboanga del Norte Regional Sub-Office to the recipients of Dipolog-Polanco Irrigators' Associations (IA).

This turn-over ceremony was done in a simple celebration following the safety protocols in the area. The inauguration was graced by Acting Manager Engr. Wilson N. Cabrales and was attended by the IA officials headed by its IA President Engr. Edgardo I. Cohena, Supervising IDO- Mr. Dionisio C. Solutorio together with the NIA employees.

This completed project includes canalization and construction of canal structures designed to restore and generate a total area of 20 hectares out of the total firmed-up service area (FUSA) of 978 hectares with 1, 182 farmer beneficiaries.

The successful activity were part of the series of project turn-overs scheduled for this week amidst of this pandemic with the observance of safety guidelines against Covid-19.

 

NIA Region IX turns over joins PRLEC's poverty reduction and livelihood programs for disadvantaged communities

 

DUMINGAG, ZDS, July 14 (NIA-9) – The National Irrigation Administration Region 9 (NIA-9) along with other line agencies converged in a remote barangay of ZDS to implement the Sustainable Development Intervention Program (SDIP) of Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC).

PRLEC is one of the 12 efforts under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and is being managed by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). It aims to develop self-reliant, resilient, productive, and sustainable communities through harmonized and culturally responsive development programs.

Pursuant to the PRLEC’s mission and intent, a two (2) day Sustainable Development Intervention Program (SDIP) was conducted by the Cluster on June 13-14, 2021 at Brgy Dilud, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. The beneficiaries of the program are two (2) barangays of Dumingag identified as geographically isolated, disadvantaged, and conflict-affected areas namely: Brgy. Dilud and Brgy. Sunop.

Nagkahiusang Irrigators Association honored as one of the Most Outstanding Irrigators Associations Nationwide

 

LABANGAN, ZDS, June 28 (NIA-9) – The National Irrigation Administration Region 9 (NIA-9) bestowed awards to Nagkahiusang Irrigator’s Association (IA) of Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur for being one of the winners during the Search of Most Outstanding Irrigators Association (IA) CY 2020 for the National Irrigation System (NIS) Category of National Irrigation Administration.

Nagkahiusang IA was honored for their achievement and success in operation and maintenance performance and implementation, financial operation, and organizational discipline and linkages. As a winner, they will be receiving 1 million worth of IA model farm project, a plaque, and P50,000 cash incentive from NIA Central Office, and another plaque and P5,000 reward from the Regional Irrigation Office (RIO).

RM Rañeses conducts field visit and site inspection of soon to be inaugurated big projects of NIA Region 9

In preparation of the upcoming inauguration of the two big projects of NIA Region 9, Regional Manager Manuel L. Rañeses inspected Lower Sibuguey I RIS Extension located in Diplahan and Lower Sibguey II RIS Extension located in Imelda, both of Zamboanga Sibugay Province. RM Raneses ensured that necessary assistance is given to Zamboanga Sibugay Irrigation Management Office headed by Acting Manager Girlie M. Detalla in order to fast tract the completion of these projects.

The said projects are set to be inaugurated in July 2021, to be graced by no other than Administrator Ricardo R. Visaya himself and other officials of the top management. The agency is as much as excited as our farmer beneficiaries as these projects will surely do great impact in the lives of our farmers and the community as a whole.

NIA Region IX turns-over Lumpanac CIS in Zamboanga Sibugay

Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay – National Irrigation Administration IX turned-over Lumpanac Communal Irrigation System (CIS) to Tiholan Farmers Irrigators Association, Inc. on May 14, 2021 at Brgy. Lumpanac, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The project costs 7-million which consists of construction of Drainage System, Protection dike, and Slope Protection. The irrigation system gets its water source from Lumpanac Creek and is now able to distribute and supply irrigation water to about 90 hectares of agricultural land in the barangay.

The turn-over ceremony was graced by Regional Manager Manuel L. Rañeses together with Engr. Girlie M. Detalla, Acting Manager of Zamboanga Sibugay IMO, Lumpanac Brgy Chairman Hon. Paul John C. Cunting, IA Officials headed by President Monico M. Pupuri, IA members and NIA-9 personnel.
