Nagkahiusang Irrigators receives IA Model Farm

The Nagkahiusang Irrigators sa Tambulig ZDS, Inc., an outstanding IA Awardee for CY 2021 received a 1-million worth of IA model farm which includes a program training on High Valued Crops or Vegetable Farming. With that, 29 trainees composed of IA Officers / Board of Trustees and selected members undergo a 16-week season long training on Vegetable Production which started on October 26, 2022.

Today, the Culmination Day of the said training transpired at Lower Usogan, Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur followed by the IA Model Farm Harvest Festival.
This activity was attended by NIA SARIS staff headed Engr. Peter Elvis L. Galleto, LGU Tambulig represented by Ms. Kchaila Danielle Coligado, Hon. Gloria T. Lahoylahoy, TAMOMA Federated President Lupi L. Pinatacan and the active Officers and members of Nagkahiusang Irrigators' sa Tambulig ZdS headed by Mr. Angel A. Busoy.

ARTA conducts inspection at NIA Region IX

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) represented by Division Chief Kristine Joy T. Fajardo and Project Development Officer III Alyssa P. Pamplona conducts on-site inspection at National Administration Region IX located Balintawak, Pagadian City.

The main objective of ARTA’s inspection is to check the compliance of NIA-IX with the provisions of the law and other relevant Memorandum Circulars and Joint Memorandum Circulars issued by ARTA.

During the inspection, among the guidelines inspected by the ARTA is the Agency’s compliance to the provisions of Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR).

NIA turns over completed Irrigation system to Irrigators in Zamboanga City

The National Irrigation Administration officially turned-over Linduman Small Irrigation Project (SIP) to Linduman Farmers Irrigators Association led by IA President Rosario I. Santiago. The Inauguration & Turn-Over Ceremony was held at Brgy. Vitali, Zamboanga City on Februay 9, 2023.

Linduman SIP is a 10-million peso project composed of six (6) units reinforced concrete tanks and 5.9 km pipe installation. The completed irrigation project will irrigate approximately 50 hectares of farmlands and will benefit 70 farmer families.  

The ceremony was spearheaded by NIA-IX ZAMBASULTA Regional Office (ZRSO) led by Officer-in-Charge Leni S. Enriquez and Project-in-Charge Engr. Climbros C. Tabilon, Jr. and was attended by Chief of Staff Jose Mari M. Dalipe who represented Zamboanga City 2nd District Representative Hon. Manuel "Mannix" Dalipe.

Also present during the ceremony were ZRSO Institutional Development Officers and guests Councilor Judito Tubana, Ms. Erwina Tejero from the Committee on Agriculture, and Field Officer Abelardo Carpio of Office of the City Agriculturist.

ZDS IMO Conducts Basic Dam Safety Orientation

NIA Region IX – Zamboanga del Sur Irrigation Management Office (IMO) conducted an orientation on Basic Dam Safety on February 8, 2023 at NIA Function Hall, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

Safety Dam Officer - Engr. Rey M. Pinatacan, also the Head of ZDS IMO Engineering Section spearheaded the said activity. The one-day training aimed to equip the technical staff particularly the Engineering, Operation, and Maintenance personnel of the IMO the necessary information to assess and better understand the aspects of dam safety.

The orientation was structured with series of presentations and hands-on activities such as case studies that covered various parts of dam safety, construction, operations and maintenance, and emergency planning and response.

It provided the participants the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills in real-life scenarios, and to share best practices in assessing dam safety and mitigating risks in order to ensure public safety.

Zamboangueño farmers happy to receive 3.5M worth of Irrigation Project

The ZAMBASULTA Regional Sub-office of NIA Region IX headed by Engr. Robert Bernie L. Rada II officially turned-over Labuan Small Irrigation Project (SIP) Phase II to Campo Acacia 1 Irrigators Association Inc., during a Turn-over & Inauguration Ceremony held at barangay Labuan, Zamboanga City on February 3, 2023.

The Labuan SIP Phase II is funded under Small Irrigation Project (SIP) CY 2022. It has a total allocation of Php 3.5 Million which covers the construction of intake structure, reinforced concrete tanks, pipe laying and project facilities. This irrigation facility will irrigate approximately 60 hectares of agricultural land, benefitting 40 farmer families.

The event was graced by City Councilor & Committee on Agriculture Hon. Joselito "Lit-Lit" Macrohon; Hon. Councilor Jerome Santos representing Hon. Mayor John M. Dalipe; Mr. Henry Ong representing Hon. District I Congressman Khymer Adan T. Olaso;  Hon. Councilor Haidie Clarito representing the Barangay Labuan Chairman, and OCA representative Engr. Adrian Garito.
