Congratulations RM Salome Naragas Layasan

NIA-IX Regional Office staff personally extends its warmest felicitations to their new full-fledged Regional Manager Salome N. Layasan who led the Flag Raising Ceremony on Sept. 26, 2022.

It is because of your accomplishments that I was given the trust and confidence by our Top Management especially our NIA Administrator Benny Antiporda to lead as full-fledged Regional Manager. Thank you and I love you all", RM Layasan said as she expressed her message of gratitude to all her staff.

General Assembly of Philippine - Dutch Fellows Network, Inc

NIA Regional Managers Salome Naragas Layasan of Region IX, Reyne B. Ugay of Region VII, and  Jimmy L. Apostol of Region XI participated the General Assembly of the Philippine Dutch Fellows Network, Inc. and Roundtable Discussion on Building Philippine - Netherlands Partnership in Mitigating Climate Change & Ensuring Sustainable Water and Food Supply.

The assembly was held at the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Diliman, Quezon City, on September 22, 2022, with Guest Speaker H.E. Marielle Geraedts, Ambassador - Designate Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Philippines.

Orientation on NIS Modernization

MOLAVE, ZDS.  22 Irrigators Associations under Salug River Irrigation System (SARIS) convened to attend the Orientation on SARIS Modernization. The meeting was held at  NIA SARIS Function Hall, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur on Sept. 20, 2022.

The orientation was conducted by the Institutional and Technical Team of NIA SARIS purposely to apprise the IAs of the activities implemented by the Agency in relation to the Modernization of SARIS.

Moreover, the activity also served as a venue for the IAs to raise their concerns, needs, as well as additional requests for the improvement of their associations and the empowerment of IA members.

EPAHP Livelihood Training for ZDS IAs

Three (3) Irrigators Associations (IAs) from Zamboanga del Sur underwent a two-day livelihood training on  Processed Food Products by Sugar Concentration specifically Fruit Jam and Marmalade, held on Sept. 21-22, 2022 at NIA SARIS Functional Hall, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

The activity was spearheaded by the Institutional Unit of NIA Zamboanga del Sur IMO - SARIS & DIPRIS. This training is part of NIA Region IX's initiatives under Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP).

Ms. Grace D. Bahinting, TESDA Training Specialist served as the Resource Speaker, while the participants were the Officers and Board of Trustees of Waterlily IA, Dumingag Rivers FIA, and Marlibama IA.

The IAs are thankful for the opportunity given to them to have a new enterprise, and for the new learning which they could share to their children and fellow irrigators.
