Ushering the Year with Gratefulness

The National Irrigation Administration Region IX joins the Agency in welcoming the New Year with gratefulness and appreciation through NIA Ushering 2023, with the theme: “NIA Para sa Progresibong Pilipinas”.

To acknowledge the greater things and opportunities that the Agency has contributed to its employees, and to express how grateful they are to be part of NIA family, a Gratitude Wall called “Agyamanak Iti Padanum” which means “Thank you, Irrigation” was created in the form of colorful art that reflects the things which the employees are grateful for NIA. The wall symbolizes unity and gratitude to the Agency as it transforms the lives of the Filipino People.

“Ato gyud nakita kung unsay nahatag sa NIA sa tagsa-tagsa kanato ug sa atong pamilya (we have seen what NIA has given us and to our families), Thank you NIA!” Regional Manager Salome Naragas Layasan said during her Ushering message.

The Irrigation Management Offices (IMOs) and Regional Sub-Offices (RSOs) of NIA-IX also participated the Ushering held in their respective offices. The activity was conducted simultaneously in all NIA Offices nationwide.

Orientation on Ease of Doing Business and Manual of Delegated Authorities

The personnel of NIA Region IX particularly the staff of Administrative and Finance Division were oriented on the topics RA No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business, and the NIA MC. 169 S. 2020 entitled 2020 Manual of Delegated Authorities.

The speakers for todays lecture were the Legal Officer of NIA-IX, Atty. Katherine Grace Cortez Lumilis who elaborately discussed the provisions and the salient points of RA No. 11032, and the Acting Manager of Administrative Department of NIA Central Office, Mr. Albine Dave V. Jubilado who clearly discussed the NIA 2020 Manual of Delegated Authorities.

These two topics were significantly useful as the year approaches its end in order for the employees to be reminded to remain doing what is right and legal and instill the same for the upcoming year.

NIA-IX ZAMBASULTA Regional Sub-Office (ZRSO) conducts NIA-IA Operations and Maintenance Year-end Assessment

The activity aims to present the various accomplishments of the Irrigators Associations (IAs), address issues concerning to the systems' operation and maintenance, and to discuss the plans and programs for CY 2023.

Among the dignitaries presents are Hon. John M. Dalipe, Zamboanga City Mayor; Mr. Jose Mari "Jojo" Dalipe, Representative of  Majority Leader Congressman Manuel Jose M. Dalipe; City Councilor Joselito "Lit-Lit" A. Macrohon; Mr. Kaizer Olaso, Representative of Zamboanga City 1st District Representative Khymer Adan T. Olaso; Mr. Arnuldo O. Estrada, APCO DA-IX; Federation President Nathan S. Dawang, and ZAMBASULTA RSO Head, Engr. Robert Berni L. Rada. Also, present are different IA Officers and Board of Trustees, and NIA employees particularly the Institutional Development Unit headed by Ms. Leni Enriquez.

Palace taps ex-Ilocos Norte Mayor as the new NIA Acting Administrator

NIA Central Office – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Romualdez Marcos, Jr. appointed former Piddig town Mayor Eduardo “Eddie” Guillen as the new Acting Administrator and Member of the Board of Directors of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) on December 9, 2022 at the Malacañang Palace, San Miguel, Manila.

Administrator Guillen took his Oath of Office before Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin as the new NIA Acting Administrator, vice Benny D. Antiporda. Before being appointed as NIA Acting Administrator, he served as the municipal mayor of Piddig, Ilocos Norte which was included in this year’s Top 10 Performing Local Government Units. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Mapua Institute of Technology and also studied Strategic Business Economics at the University of Asia and the Pacific.
